Forex Trades I missed

20 April 2007 No Comment

The Nor’easter is over and today the sun is out and at 60 degrees. It’s only in New England where there such weather changes. I got back home yesterday and I’m lucky things aren’t so bad.
I checked to see some of the things I have missed and as they say, things only happen when you are not there.

I love trading and i love trading gbpusd, usdchf, gold, canadian dollars, high grade copper, silver, and orange juice. Sometimes I add eminis but rarely. As you can see I’m a sucker for trending futures and forex commodities. However trading trending markets is hazardous to you if you miss the market move.

You will notice that all these started trending on the 10th. However I had decided to wait for the weekend to see what was going to happen before trading, then the nor’easter struck.

1. GBPUSD

Now I have wanted to see the gbpusd at $2 for a long time and always known it would happen but . I missed this big time. For those who are new in trading, just know that $2.0 on gbpusd is the so called holy grail. The last time it nearly got here was January this year then it crashed, but traders have known it would get here one day. And I missed that. Now that was annoying.

2. Gold

Gold started trending long at the beggining of the month shown at point A. However for reasons only an indiscplined trader can know, I missed all that.Gold crossed over the guppy ema on the 23rd of March. I was waiting for the retracement but missed it on the 4th. How I did that, I don’t know. However I was still expecting another bounce and it happened during the nor’easter. That is point B on the trading chart below. It has moved from weekly S1 665.82 to a high of 691.28 . That would have paid a few bills.

3.Dollar Index

I like using the dollar index as confirmation for high risk trades and this was my worst chart. As you can see there was a sell signal on the 10 to be traded when the sell was crossed. I missed that too and if I had seen that, I would have been shorting the dollar the whole week.

The charts for the other commodities are too depressing to post here. It’s the same thing, trend starts on the 10th and I missed entering on Monday. That is one of the reasons trading is fun.Traders always miss the best trades.

As for the forex blog while I was away great things happened.

Alexa Rank

The alexa rank 3 weeks ago for this blog was at 1.7 million or something. Then I read in dosh dosh about increasing alexa pagerank with the alex widget.
In the space of 1 week you can see that we are now at 762000 or something but checking the latest alexa rank for last week we should be moving to mid 200,000. Just amazing.I would encourage you to upload that alexa widget thingi.lol

Technorati

I decided to join the technorati exchange and all of a sudded from a rank of 1million plus, this site has moved to 71,097 rank. Now if only I could do those percentages in forex trading. I blame that on the technorati exchange we have here as from 0 favourites we have moved to 67 links to this site.

For those wondering what forex charting software we are using. I use

1. Metatrader. – Just for fun. I never trade using this chart. For newbies, try these forex charts, it’s free.

2. Xtick – My primary trading charts. Yes I am biased but I can never trade without these charts. I believe they are better than esignal, etc.
3. Fractals edge – For my futures trading ideas. I use this for my long term planning and I hear they have new charts for forex trading .I have yet to test those but the futures are just fantastic.
Thanks to all those who linked here and have a great weekend. It’s going to be 70 degrees here, I aim to enjoy it in the beach.
